The World Says Goodbye To Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson's brothers carry out his coffin at his memorial

Michael Jackson's family, the brother's dawning his trademark glove

It was a memorial fit for a King yesterday at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, California. With performances from Mariah Carey and Trey Lorenz, Lionel Richie, Jennifer Hudson, Stevie Wonder, Jermaine Jackson, John Mayer, Usher and Shaheen Jafargholi from Britain’s Got Talent. As well as long time friends of Michael Jackson and dignataries who came and shared their stories and thoughts of Michael Jackson. Stories from Magic Johnson about his encounters with MJ and Kentucky Fried Chicken and Smokey Robinson’s light-hearted reminder to everyone that he was the originator to the song, “Who’s Loving You” really lightened the solemn mood. And an honourable mention to Al Sharpton and his wonderful speech on MJ opening the doors for many black entertainers today as well as the likes President Barrack Obama. The Luther King brother and sister also shared their respects and memories of the international icon. And lets not forget Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee who spoke out against any negative naysayers regarding MJ’s past allegations.  The memorial came to a nice closing when the family of Michael Jackson, his children and peformers including the chosen dancers for MJ’s final concert gathered on stage and sang We Are the World.
